I recently joined the Visit Japan Travel Mart<\/strong> at Aichi Sky Expo!<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the biggest tourism trade fair in Japan, where travel professionals from all over the world come together. There were booths from many countries and regions across Japan, plus lots of business matching opportunities.<\/p>\n

I had the chance to give presentations in English to travel companies from places like Finland and Taiwan (kind of like their version of JTB). Honestly, it was a challenge for me\u2014I studied really hard for this day, but my English is still a work in progress.<\/p>\n

My teammates included people from Disney Resort and big hotels in Urayasu and Makuhari, and they were all so fluent! It made me think, I really need to keep pushing myself<\/em>. At the same time, that frustration has turned into motivation.<\/p>\n

But I also realized\u2014I do have my own strengths. I actually guide international visitors here in Japan. For example, I\u2019ve hosted newlyweds from South America, and showed Finnish guests around the workshop of Mr. Matsubara, a Living National Treasure in indigo dyeing.<\/p>\n

Inbound tourism in Chiba is just getting started, and I want to use my experience with guiding, retreats, and cultural programs to help make it grow.<\/p>\n

The booths were also a lot of fun\u2014like Nara\u2019s, where I got to take a photo surrounded by samurai armor! I love seeing creative ways to make tourism both interesting and engaging.<\/p>\n

Between appointments, I explored the international and regional booths myself, picking up fresh ideas and inspiration for the future.<\/p>\n
